Crown Reduction

About Our Crown Reduction

As trees grow they can become bulky and this can cause problems. The branches can become brittle if there is too much weight in the tree and light may not be able to reach the lower parts of the tree or the ground. Crown reduction is a way of reshaping a tree to help it stay healthy and maintain a good growth.

When we reshape, we cut the outside branches back which reduces the overall size of the tree and gives it a much better shape. This isn’t just about making the tree pleasing to look at: it also means that the smaller, lower branches don’t have so much weight on them and the tree overall has better, stronger support.  This in turn keeps the tree healthier so that is has a longer life.

Our expert tree surgeons will calculate which branches need to be reduced and make sure that the reduction is carried out evenly.
